Beyond the Shock

Beyond the Shock
A Project of the National Breast Cancer Foundation
Throughout my cancer journey, I’ve tried to be transparent and share my walk with others. I choose to communicate often and openly about my struggles. I encourage myself and others to navigate with faith in difficult times. I always believed that healing is a part of the benefits of our salvation, and I want others to believe with me. Sharing my journey gives me a place to minister truth, hope and healing.
In early 2011, I received an opportunity to expand the impact of my story. I became a part of Beyond the Shock, a project for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). The NBCF’s mission is to save lives by increasing awareness of breast cancer through education and by providing mammograms for those in need. Beyond the Shock is a new resource which features documentary-type stories of people sharing their insights and perspectives as cancer survivors (beyondtheshock.com), and I’m privileged to be one of those people. I am so honored to partner with this organization and the thousands of women they serve every day. I hope my story will inspire courage, hope and faith in others who are battling illness.
